A radiation hybrid and several genetic maps have been generated at the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity. Felis catus

The Laboratory of Genomic Diversity has been involved with the development for Felis catus of both a radiation hybrid map and several different genetic maps. An initial genetic linkage map was generated utilizing an interspecies backcross between the domestic cat and the Asian leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis). More recently, they have created a genetic linkage map from a large, multi-generational pedigree of domestic cats. Radiation hybrid maps for the 18 autosomes and chromosomes X and Y have also been developed.
