Perfectionism, Coping, and Wellbeing Among Filipino University Students: A Test of the 2 x 2 Model of Perfectionism

The 2 x 2 model of perfectionism by Gaudreau and Thompson (2010) has been used by researchers to examine the interactive effects of perfectionism and differences between perfectionism subtypes in the experiences of students. In this study, we extend previous research by testing the hypotheses of the 2 x 2 model in regards to wellbeing and coping in Filipino university students. In doing so, we are able to provide the first test of the model in a different cultural context in which perfectionism is important and compare an alternate cultural makeup hypothesis proposed by Franche et al.
