资源简介:
4-part reference set for schools, nature centers, youth and community organizations, and land management professionals participating in the Purple Loosestrife Project at Michigan State University or working to control loosestrife in other states. A nonnative species, purple loosestrife grows prolifically in wetlands and other moist areas. Though attractive, the plant eventually overtakes local vegetation. As native plant species are reduced, so too are wildlife species that depend on them. Section 1 provides an overview of the purple loosestrife problem and outlines a method for community control. Section 1: Cooperator essentials Section 2: Rearing and releasing natural enemies to control purple loosestrife Section 3: Secondary school activity set Section 4: Upper elementary lessons: teacher's guide Section 5: Upper elementary lesson: student workbook
