Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type N (PTPRN) plays an important role in diabetes and many cancers but its role in glioma remain poorly defined. Here, we verified the knock down of PTPRN expression inhibited proliferation, migration and invasion of human glioma cells. Furthermore, KEGG analysis demonstrated that PTPRN was involved in endocytosis, gap junction, and TGF-beta signaling pathway, the downstream gene expression of PTPRN were then confirmed by western blot. These data highlight PTPRN, a key molecule associated with the EMT pathway, can be used as a molecular marker for tumor risk assessment, detection, and diagnosis in the early stage of glioma.
