资源简介:
The importance of serving perceptive monitoring in children with developmental disabilities has been recognized; however, little attention has been given to the potential role of inhibition of return (IOR) in children's language processing, specifically metaphoric disability. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between metaphoric disability and perceptive intervention by examining variations in children's ability to understand and generate metaphoric expressions involving vehicle, tenor, and ground (VTG). A total of 117 autistic children showing signs of metaphoric disabilities participated in the study. The results indicated that improvements in metaphoric abilities through IOR had a significant impact on the relationship between metaphoric features (i.e., word, idiom, sentence, WIS) and children's performance. These findings are crucial for the development and enhancement of interventions that focus on children's self-perception of metaphoric expressions, thereby promoting their perceptual development in language production.
