Miletus (Turkey), sanctuary of Athena; from the division of finds of the Miletus excavationMarble, 600 - 550 BC The marble basin, the stand and the pedestal block made of limestone were found in the debris of the Archaic temple of Athena in Miletus, which was destroyed by the Persians. The form of the basin with the rotelles, and the form of the stand are modelled on bronze implements. This object is part of Scan The World. Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
