We genotyped over twenty HLA genes at 3-field resolution in 8278 individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, including 4013 unrelated Han Chinese. We focused on the adaptation of HLAs in the Han Chinese by analyzing their binding affinity for various pathogens, and explored the potential correlations between pathogen adaptation and autoimmune diseases. Our findings reveal that specific HLA alleles like HLA-DRB1*07:01 and HLA-DQB1*06:01 confer strong pathogen adaptability at the sequence level, notably for Corynebacterium diphtheriae and Bordetella pertussis.
本研究对8278名来自不同种族背景的个体(其中包含4013名无亲缘关系的汉族个体)的20余个人类白细胞抗原(Human Leukocyte Antigen,HLA)基因进行了3字段分辨率的基因分型。本研究通过分析HLA对多种病原体的结合亲和力,聚焦汉族人群中HLA的适应性演化,并探讨了病原体适应性与自身免疫疾病之间的潜在关联。研究结果显示,部分特定HLA等位基因(如HLA-DRB1*07:01与HLA-DQB1*06:01)在序列层面展现出极强的病原体适配能力,尤其对白喉棒状杆菌(Corynebacterium diphtheriae)和百日咳博德特菌(Bordetella pertussis)而言。
