The Organizational Archive 1983

The collection of the material was carried out at the University of Tromsø.

The Norwegian Research Council for General Sciences and the Norwegian Social Science Data Service provided support for the collection.

The results of the collection were presented in the book "Norwegian organizations" 4th revised and updated edition edited by Abrahan Hallenstvedt, Jan Trollvik, Ingvar Kjærstad and Olav Thoresen, Tanum-Nordli, Oslo, 1983, ISBN 82-518-1750-1

The book's preface states that the book has references to 1685 nationwide voluntary organizations. Both large and well-known as well as the smaller and unknown are included. All nationwide organizations have their own notice, regardless of whether they are affiliated with larger units or not.

The organizations were sent draft notices together with a comprehensive questionnaire in March 1982, and a reminder was sent in May 1982. The main principle has been that the organizations themselves should design their presentation.

Professor Abraham Hallenstvedt has been primarily responsible for the work with the newly collected material. Consultant Jan Trollvik led the daily work with the reference book. Ingvar Kjærstad and Olav Thoresen worked on arranging the printing of notices, while Kari Qvenild Andersen was in charge of printing the manuscript for offset.
