To elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which PIEZO1 mediates plant defense, we conducted a comparative transcriptomic analysis of wild-type (Col-0) and piezo1 mutant plants with or without 6-hour whitefly infestation. Previous work established that PIEZO1 expression is highly upregulated under this precise condition. This study leverages high-throughput RNA-seq to identify the key immune signaling pathways and regulatory networks orchestrated by PIEZO1. Our findings decipher how PIEZO1 translates mechanical stress into a defined transcriptional program, providing insights for future development of pest-resistant crops.
