Grammatical gender assignment in L2 French by speakers of Polish

This study assessed the relative impact of three factors on grammatical gender assignment for nouns in L2 French by Polish learners in cases when the gender of the noun is unknown to the learner. Those three factors are as follows: the form of the noun, transfer effects from the first language (L1), and the assignment of masculine by default.
