Global dataset of soil properties and crop yield under conventional and conservation agriculture

The dataset given in "Soil properties and yield data.xlsx" contains observations for 12 soil physical, hydraulic, and mechanical properties, and crop yield measured under paired conventional and conservation practices from 338 studies reporting observations at 361 experimental sites across 63 countries. The recorded soil parameters include bulk density and porosity, organic matter content, infiltration, saturated and near-saturated hydraulic conductivities, water retention constanst: saturation, field capacity, and wilting point, plant-available water capacity, air-capacity, and penetration resistance. The database also contains key metadata of the recorded observations. The script "CASPY_random_effects_model.R" contains a meta-analysis procedure implemented in R using the metafor package, whereas "CASPY_output_processing.m" contains code used to process the meta-analytic model outputs.
