The aim of this longitudinal study was to characterize the compositional dynamics of soil viral communities in a Mediterranean grassland. We collected soil samples from two distinct topographical features (mounds and swells) over 1.5 years and generated viral-size-fraction metagenomes (viromes) to profile dsDNA viral diversity.
