Whole genome sequencing of the southern naked-tailed armadillo (Cabassous unicinctus)

A PCR-free library Illumina library with 450 bp inserts was prepared after genomic DNA extraction from a southern naked-tailed armadillo (Cabassous unicinctus; specimen MVZ 155190), according to the recommendations of the Broad Institute for subsequent genome assembly with DISCOVAR de novo (https://software.broadinstitute.org/software/discovar/blog/?page_id=375) following the strategy of the Zoonomia project (https://zoonomiaproject.org/). The library was sequenced at the Vincent J. Coates Genomics Sequencing Laboratory (University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA) on an Illumina HiSeq4000 instrument using 250 bp paired-end reads.
