Publishable LCA results of CAESAR scrap upgrading solutions

Analysed data showing results of environmental calculations Data format: Excel file (.xlsx) Scores of environmental impact indicators for 16 damage categories, at Characterisation (Damage Assessment), and after Normalisation, Weighting and Grouping into one Single Score (SS), calculated using the Environmental Footprint method (EF) in SimaPro LCA software and exported into Excel spreadsheets. The file contains the tabulated numerical indicators of the EF method for: E1 upgrading; HMS upgrading, compared 9 iron-bearing raw materials; three secondary copper fractions (& the primary Cu and Al benchmarks); scrap exports by sea (outside the EU); differential environmental performance in the EAF, when substituting u-E1 for E40 in scrap mix; differential environmental performance in the BOF, when substituting deep cleaned scrap for M/HQ scrap in scrap mix.The LCIA results have been used to evaluate the potential environmental benefits/losses generated by using upgraded low quality old scrap in steelmaking (flat products grades). The data and the research pertain to Task 6.3 (WP6, CAESAR project GA 101058520 – Deliverable D6.3).
