资源简介:
The aim of this project is to examine how and why patterns of far-right mobilization differ in hybrid regimes compared to democracies. To answer this question, sthe study maps patterns of mobilization in Georgia and Ukraine after the so-called Color Revolutions to the end of 2020. Next, the study compares these patterns to established knowledge about far-right mobilization in liberal democracies to explain how and why the Georgian and Ukrainian cases differ. In doing so, it applies protest event analysis to map patterns of protest in both cases over the last two decades, and social movement theory to explain variation in protest over time. As a result, the study aims to investigate how existing theories aiming to explain mobilization patterns in democracies need to be modified or developed to properly capture and explain far-right mobilization in hybrid regimes.
