Two-photon fluorescence microscopy and calcium imaging of cerebellar slices

A completely scanless two-photon microscope (SLM-2PM) was developed and used to perform two-photon calcium imaging experiments on acute cerebellar slices. The system allows to monitor the activity of different selected cells simultaneously while maintaining the single-cell resolution; it was used to study the spatial organization of the cerebellar granular layer activity, both in control condition and in condition of blockage of inhibition (Gandolfi et al. 2014, Pozzi et al., 2015).
