Mitochondrial dysfunction causes biophysical, metabolic and signalling changes that alter homeostasis and reprogram cells. We used a Drosophila model in which TFAM is overexpressed in the nervous system with or without knock-down of the ER UPR transcription factor ATF4, to investigate the how mitochondrial dysfunction and ER stress signalling affect the transcriptome. Overall design: mRNA profiles of Drosophila CNS with mitochondrial dysfunction, ATF4 overexpression, and mitochondrial dysfunction with ATF4 knock-down were generated by RNA sequencing, in quadruplicate, using the Illumina NextSeq 500.
