Return Migration Literature Review Scopus+WoS 1991-2025

The identification of the relevant journal articles for our work was based on targeted searches on Elsevier's Scopus and Clarivate’s Web-of-Science. The searches were conducted using the keywords migration, return, and gender in titles, abstracts, and keywords. This process yielded 1,411 records. After duplicate removal, 1,367 abstracts remained, spanning publications from 1991 to 2025. This time frame reflects the outcome of an unrestricted keyword-based search, beginning with the earliest peer-reviewed article retrieved on the topic.
