To analyze the dynamic expression of genes during early spike development stage in wheat, a transcriptome of spikes collected from the winter wheat Kenong9204 (KN9204) at six developmental stage were performed. After germinated, KN9204 seedlings were vernalized under 4℃ for 40 days. Then the plants were cultured under 22℃ with 16hour light and 8 hour darkness. Spikes at vegetative stage （kn1）, elongation stage (kn2), signle ridge stage (kn3), double ridge stage (kn4), glume primordium diferentiation stage (Kn5) and foret diferentiation stage (kn6) were collected for transcriptomic sequencing. Each sample had two replicates. Total RNA were isolated using RNeasy plant mini kit (Qiagen), and sequencing library were constructed using TruSeq Stranded mRNA Library Prep Kit (Illumina).Paired-end 125bp sequencing was performed on an Illumina HiSeq2500 sequencer.
