Database of 3d³ions (Mn⁴⁺, Cr³⁺) Activated Red‒NIR PhosphorsMn4+-activated phosphorsCr3+-activated phosphors in weak fieldCr3+-activated phosphors in medium and strong fields

With tunable red to near-infrared (NIR) emissions, Mn⁴⁺- and Cr³⁺-activated phosphors have been extensively investigated in recent years and are emerging as an alternative to commercial rare earth ions-activated phosphors in various applications. This work aims to build a comprehensive database to collect and analyze the reported data on Mn⁴⁺- and Cr³⁺-activated phosphors to date. We recalculate and modify the spectral levels, Racah parameters, and crystal field parameters uniformly after the correction of the related empirical formulas. The systematical and reliable phosphor database paves the way to achieving the rational design of d³ ion-activated phosphors.
