Mean Annual Green Water Flows (mm)

This data set contains the MEAN ANNUAL "GREEN" WATER FLOWS (mm) in South Africa. The study intended to determine the major driver of change of terrestrial water balance over both space and time. Due to the manipulation of the Earth`s natural land cover through conversions for food and fodder production, both rainfed and irrigation, as well as for human habitation. The conversions from natural land covers result in changes in the partitioning of precipitation into so-called "green" water, i.e. productive transpiration by plants of the water which is stored in the root zone of the soil profile.
