Images and GIS Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at The Bishop on the Bridge, 1 High Street, Winchester, Hampshire, October 2019

This archive comprises images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in October 2019 at The Bishop on the Bridge, Winchester, Hampshire. One trench was excavated. A section of Winchester's medieval east wall was revealed at the west end of an east-west aligned trench within the Public House's Beer Garden and backyard, with probable post-medieval additions to the western face and a later discordant modern wall above. A post-medieval culvert and well were also revealed on the east side of the wall along with a plethora of post-medieval and later modern rubble debris and modern foundation.
