Small Mammal Diversity

This dataset provides small mammal capture summaries from the project "RTG 2300 - Enrichment of European beech forests with conifers" for each study plot over the course of 3 years, for one survey per year. The aim of the project was to determine if forest stands of three tree species, European beech (Fagus sylvatica), Norway spruce (Picea abies) and Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) and mixed stands of beech with each of the two conifers led to different small mammal community assemblages. All study plots were located in the state of Lower Saxony in Northern Germany; precise locations and other related plot-level data are available from the linked RTG 2300 datasets.
