ERα has been shown to have a protective effect.We found that ERα deficiency in dendritic cells (DCs) of mice induced a phenotype “switch” in EAE, defined by severe neurodegeneration and resistance to interferon beta. Diminished ERα signaling in DCs generate neurotoxic effector CD4+ T cells. Overall design: Gene expression analysis of RNAseq data from CD4+T cells isolated from WT and ERa KO mice with EAE
