Akimova N. Advantages and disadvantages of online learning from the positions of students and teachers
The article is devoted to the actual problem of assessing the effectiveness of online learning, taking into account the views of providers and applicants of educational services at the same time. Reforming educational standards, the influence of global educational trends, the difficult socio-political and economic situation in Ukraine in war time have led to share the online format. However, the issue of its effectiveness does not leave the attention of scientists, officials and teachers. It also no less worries students and their parents. Therefore, there is a need for a comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of online learning through the eyes of students and teachers. For this purpose, a study was conducted using a number of theoretical methods (analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison, abstraction, specification, classification). At the empirical stage, observation, receptive experiment and interview were used. For mathematical processing, primary data processing methods were used. Qualitative processing was carried out using interpretative methods, in particular, content analysis, systemic, structural methods and hermeneutic methods. As a result of the study, the main advantages and disadvantages of online learning were identified, their significance for teachers and students was calculated and interpreted. A number of specific advantages and disadvantages were also identified that are important for applicants, but they are not noticed by the teaching staff. The conclusions indicate that a well-founded optimization of online learning should take into account the opinions of providers of educational services and applicants too. The ability to look at online learning from the positions of both sides leads to the conclusion that disadvantages for some may be perceived as advantages for others, and an analysis of the effectiveness of online learning should take into account both positions, determining ways to optimize this format should take into account the opinions of the teacher and the student.
