Genome sequencing and comparative analysis of three chlorella strains provide molecular insights into differential tolerance to wastewater

Industrial microalgal chlorella are able to process wastewater with great efficiency, for which the molecular base remains elusive, partially due the lack of genome information and poorly-established model organisms for research. In this study, we report three newly sequenced and assembled genomes of Chlorella, including Chlorella sorokiniana BD09, Chlorella sorokiniana BD08 and Chlorlella sp. Dachan, all of which are widely used in piggery industry for nutrient removal from the wastewater.
