Sequencing of three novel cytomegalovirus species from Mastomys natalensis rodents from Mali.

Sequencing and de novo assembly of cytomegaloviruses recovered from Mali M. natalensis rodents. The existence of these MnatCMVs was inferred previously using pan-herpesvirus PCR primers but no genomes were assembled. Here we sequenced MnatCMVs from several M. natalensis individuals and assembled multiple genomes for three novel species: MnatCMV1, MnatCMV2 and MnatCMV3.
