Impact of US-China Trade War on Graduate School Selection Survey Results

The research suggests that Chinese students' motivations for attending graduate school in this US are not strongly influenced by the US-China trade war. Survey was taken by Chinese undergraduate and recently graduated students from universities in Henan, China. Survey was voluntary and could be taken in Chinese or English based on the respondent's choice. After the initial demographic questions and interest in studying abroad, students were asked to select their value on a five-point scale of 1- extremely important, 2- very important, 3- moderately important, 4- somewhat important, 5- not important at all.

研究结果表明，中国学生赴美攻读研究生院的动机并不受到中美贸易战的强烈影响。此次调查由中国河南省高校的本科生及近期毕业生自愿参与，调查内容可用中文或英文进行，取决于受访者的选择。在初步的人口统计学问题和对出国留学的兴趣调查之后，学生被要求根据五点量表（1-极其重要，2-非常重要，3-中等重要，4-有些重要，5-根本不重要）选择其对相关价值的评价。
