New York State Nurse Aide Training Programs

Nurse Aide Training Programs provide comprehensive, quality education that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and compassionate attitude necessary to become competent and safe Certified Nursing Assistants capable of delivering high-standard patient care to a diverse population in a variety of healthcare settings. Nurse Aide Training Programs offered in New York State may be approved by either the New York State Department of Health or the New York State Education Department. The Department of Health approves those programs provided by nursing homes free of charge to the student or trainee. All programs provided by entities under the jurisdiction of the State Education Department such as secondary or vocational schools, community colleges, proprietary schools, post-secondary schools, or any nurse aide training program that will charge the student or trainee tuition or fees must be approved by the State Education Department. The dataset identifies those nursing homes approved by the Department of Health to educate the student or trainee to become Certified Nursing Assistant. The Department of Health reviews and approves Nurse Aide Training Program applications continuously and updates the report monthly to include new and removed programs.
