Expectations for future ESG finance demand among financial institutions in Japan 2022

In a survey conducted from September to October 2022, the majority of financial institutions in Japan, around 90 percent, stated that ESG finance is a future growth area. Around 49 percent stated that demand for ESG finance will expand, while 41 percent thought that the need for capital for businesses and projects that benefit environment and society will remain small in the short term.

在2022年9月至10月期间进行的一项调查中，日本绝大多数金融机构，约90%，均表示环境、社会和治理（ESG）金融是未来增长的领域。其中，大约49%的受访者认为ESG金融的需求将会扩张，而41%的人则认为在短期内，对那些有利于环境和社会的企业和项目的资本需求将保持较小。
