Global Catalog of Ray and Halo Craters and Ray-System Morphologies on Mercury (Crater Diameter ≥ 0.6 km)

This dataset provides a global catalog of 6,872 ray and halo craters on Mercury identified from MESSENGER Mercury Dual Imaging System imagery. The catalog includes 1,112 ray craters, 4,279 halo craters, and 1,481 faint-halo craters, with diameters ranging from 0.6 to 134 km. The crater catalog records a unique crater identifier, crater-center longitude and latitude, crater diameter, mean optical maturity (OMAT), morphological class, and additional flags for compositionally bright and probable secondary craters. For ray craters, a separate ray-system morphology layer provides vectorized polygon boundaries and quantitative morphology parameters. These include the maximum and median spherical great-circle distances from the crater center to the ray-system boundary. The crater and ray-system layers are linked through the Crater_id field.
