Sea ice thickness in Southern Beaufort Sea

Purpose: Provide information on the large-scale spatial and thickness distributions of different sea ice types and extreme ice features (EIF) in the southern Beaufort Sea. Observe interannual variability and develop Canadian capacity for airborne sea ice surveys. The project is co-funded by the Canada Research Chair program, Canadian Arctic Sea Ice Mass Balance Observatory (CASIMBO), and the German Polar Airborne Measurements and Arctic Regional Climate Model Simulation Project (PAMARCMIP).研究目的：获取波弗特海南部不同海冰类型与极端冰体特征（Extreme Ice Features, EIF）的大规模空间分布及厚度分布信息，观测其年际变化规律，同时提升加拿大机载海冰调查的技术能力。本项目由加拿大研究主席计划、加拿大北极海冰质量平衡观测站（Canadian Arctic Sea Ice Mass Balance Observatory, CASIMBO）以及德国极地机载测量与北极区域气候模式模拟项目（Polar Airborne Measurements and Arctic Regional Climate Model Simulation Project, PAMARCMIP）联合资助。
