Cross species evaluation of fibroblast activation protein alpha as potential imaging target for soft tissue sarcoma: a comparative immunohistochemical study in humans, dogs and cats.

This collection of data includes microscopic images of canine, feline and human soft tissue sarcoma as well as canine and feline healthy skin and inflammatory tissue samples. Each tissue section was stained using a routine hematoxylin and eosin stain and was immunohistochemically (IHC) stained for the expression of fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAP). The IHC staining protocol is included in this collection as well as the results of the image analysis. An automated histomorphometry software Visiopharm® (Hoersholm, Denmark) was used for quantification of FAP staining in digitalized whole-slide images. Images of how the used applications are programmed are provided.
