Composition of soil and root-associated microbial communities along a successional gradient in temperate grassland

This study focuses on soil and root-associated microbial communities of three grassland plant species in a successional gradient on a limestone quarry spoil heap. The gradient spans barren spoil, revegetated spoil heap and old temperate grassland, representing environments with different soil chemistry and plant community composition.
