Processed multi-electrode-array (MEA) recordings of adult human neocortical slice cultures, used in Graph Theory for the Analysis of Micro-electrode Array Recordings of Human Brain Slices — Framework and Benchmarking. Each file is one recording, stored as a pickled Python dictionary (MAIN_RECORDING_DICTIONARY) containing detected spike times and per-recording metadata. Recording system: Multi Channel Systems (MCS) 256-electrode MEA, 16 × 16 layout, 252 recording channels. Preparation: adult human post-operative neocortical slices, recorded as slice cultures. Ethics: obtained with written informed consent and approval of the local ethics committee (reference EK-067-20). File contents Each .pkl unpickles to a dictionary. The fields consumed by the analysis pipeline are: Key Type Description spikedic_MAD dict {channel_label: array of spike times in ticks}. Spikes detected with a median-absolute-deviation (MAD) threshold. Infos_Recording dict Recording metadata (see below). Basics dict Summary values, incl. mean_fr_whole_recording (Hz). fr_dic dict Per-channel firing-rate information. isi_average_dic dict Per-channel mean inter-spike interval. waveform_means dict Per-channel mean spike waveform. Infos_Recording contains at least: Key Description tick Sampling tick. scale_factor_for_second Multiplier converting ticks → seconds. timelengthrecording_s Recording duration (s). slice_id, recording_date, tissue, medium Preparation metadata. drug Pharmacological condition (e.g. nodrug, 8mMK = 8 mM potassium baseline, 5uMgabazine = 5 µM gabazine / GABA-A antagonist). filename Original recording filename. Files may contain additional fields from upstream processing; the table above lists those the notebook relies on. Electrode layout 252 active channels on a 16 × 16 MCS grid. Column labels are A B C D E F G H J K L M N O P R (no I, no Q); rows 1–16. The notebook builds normalised (x, y) coordinates from these labels for spatial plots. Usage These files are designed to be used directly with the analysis notebook (see README.md). Download the deposit, keep the three-folder structure, and set BASE_DATA_DIR to the download location.
