Composition and quantification of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in deep-pelagic fauna collected aboard R/V Point Sur cruise DP06 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2018-07-24 to 2018-08-01

This dataset contains composition and quantification of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in deep-pelagic fauna collected aboard R/V Point Sur cruise DP06 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2018-07-24 to 2018-08-01. The fish species Sigmops elongatus, the jellyfishes Atolla sp. and Aurelia aurita were captured. The analysis of PAHs was conducted on tissue samples following modified EPA method 8270D and 8015C, and QA/QC strict protocols. Detection and quantification of PAH homologues were performed by using a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometric detector in MRM mode (GC/MS/MS-MRM). The dataset also includes the locations and dates of sample collection. The cruise documentation was provided for the R/V Point Sur cruise DP06 led by chief scientist Dr. Tracey Sutton.
