Three sites in the Quail Ranch Data Recovery Project were selected for phytolith
analysis. A total of twelve phytolith samples were examined from hearths, roasting pits, and
middens to assess local vegetation and plants that might have been cooked or roasted. These
sites range in age from Middle to Late Archaic.
