As part of an ongoing initiative to ensure the sustainability of the State's marine resources, the South Australian Government instigated new management arrangements for charter boat operators. From the 30th of July 2005 all charter boat operators were required to be licensed, and on the 1st August 2005 the Fisheries Management (Charter Boat Fishery) Regulations 2005 were formally introduced.
