Multidrug-resistant hospital-acquired Pseudomonas aeruginosa poses a growing threat in the healthcare sector due to its unique ability to develop resistance to multiple antimicrobial agents. Primarily stemming from the extensive use of antibiotics in clinical settings, this strain challenges conventional treatment efforts by exhibiting resistance to various drug classes. Intra-hospital dissemination is facilitated by the bacterium's capability to colonize medical devices, heightening the risk of nosocomial infections. Thus, the aim of this study is to assess the multidrug resistance of these strains, as well as to investigate resistance mechanisms and other forms of virulence.
