As a typical polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), the presence of Benzo(α)pyrene (BaP) and its widespread distribution in aquatic environments have drawn much attention due to its adverse effects in human, mammals and aquatic animals. Liver is an important digestive organ involved in metabolic processes, immunological effects and detoxification in fish. However, a direct molecular evidence that BaP exposure causing adverse effects in zebrafish liver, remains under explored. Here we performed a transcriptomic analysis on gene expression in liver of zebrafish. Our results would facilitate better understanding of the toxic effects of BaP on aquatic organisms, and uncovering potential immune responses to BaP in fish.
