Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1973

Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1973 comprises 10 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1973. Originally, there were 11 surveys, but data from the first survey are not in the possession of the DDA. #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. This data material contains information from all the omnibuses concerning the questions common to them. #The questions common to all 1973 omnibuses are: residence according to degree of urbanization; the respondent's sex, age, marital status, occupational status, education and gross income; household gross income; occupational status of head of household; size of household; type of dwelling; number of children under the age of 15; the age of the children; number of adults in household; the respondent's position in household; occupational status of spouse; and party preference. # #The special questions deal with such issues as: # #Omnibus no. 02 (DDA-0364): #Attitudes to economic industrial democracy and to a central fund; distribution of incomes in Denmark; and membership of a trade union. # #Omnibus no. 03 (DDA-0365): #Attitudes to the Government; attitudes to economic industrial democracy and to a central fund; attitudes to the Progress Party; distribution of incomes in Denmark; reduction of working hours; TV licence fees; and membership of a trade union. # #Omnibus no. 04 (DDA-0366): #Attitudes to the Progress Party; savings in the public sector; house owners versus tenants; opinions about TV programmes in general; alternative party preference if a general election was held on the day after the interview; assessment of Anker Jørgensen as prime minister; and opinions as to when the next general election should be held. # #Omnibus no. 05 (DDA-0367): #Attitudes to the Government; summer holiday destinations; vote at the referendum on Danish membership of the EC; voting intention if a referendum was held on the day of the interview; political problems which must be solved; forms of address (the deferential 'De' versus the familiar 'du'); and change of prime minister. # #Omnibus no. 06 (DDA-0368): #Attitudes to infidelity and divorce; politicians' intelligence and morality compared with the rest of the population; opinions about drugs; attitudes to the Watergate scandal; attitudes to political co-operation between two and two of the parties; and company outings. # #Omnibus no. 07 (DDA-0369): #Political problems which must be solved; attitudes to general speed limits; attitudes to economic industrial democracy and to a central fund; direct income tax versus VAT; cohabitation versus legal marriage; use of cars; and membership of a trade union. # #Omnibus no. 08 (DDA-0370): #The Pornography Act; house owners versus tenants; attitudes to the last house valuation (the 15th valuation); and opinions about public spendings. # #Omnibus no. 09 (DDA-0371): #Vote at the referendum on Danish membership of the EC; and voting intention if a referendum was held on the day of the interview. # #Omnibus no. 10 (DDA-0372): #Attitudes to economic industrial democracy and to a central fund; attitudes to the Government; attitudes to Denmark's membership of NATO; membership of a trade union; alternative party preference if a general election was held on the day after the interview; opinions about the election campaign and the housing compromise between the Government and the Socialist People's Party; opinions about polling evening TV programmes; and house owners versus tenants. # #Omnibus no. 11 (DDA-0373): #Use of cars; attitudes to general speed limits; participation in election meetings; membership of a political party; minority versus majority government; expecting a new election soon; attitudes to party platforms and to people representing a party; and expectations of 1974 (as regards price development, labour market unrest and strikes, unemployment, Denmark's economic situation, the family's standard of living, and increase or reduction in the power of the USSR, the USA and China)
