资源简介:
This dataset contains life cycle inventory (LCI) data for multiple process scenarios related to the precision fermentation produced protein (Betalactoglobulin) using Trichoderma reesei. The base-case system yields a global warming potential (GWP) of 23.7 kg CO₂-eq/kg, driven predominantly by electricity demands for aeration and cooling. While feedstock choice has limited influence on GWP, it markedly reduces land occupation (<1 m²·year crop eq./kg). Allocation assumptions strongly influence results: for instance, protein-based allocation decreases GWP to ~16.5 kg CO₂-eq/kg when the residual biomass contains 50% protein. Transitioning to renewable electricity lowers GWP further to 6–9 kg CO₂-eq/kg. Relative to whey and soy protein isolates, PF protein requires 50–85% less land but exhibits higher GWP and greater water consumption. Overall, PF can complement, not replace, conventional proteins by relieving land constraints, but realising climate benefits depends on access to low-carbon electricity and effective co-product valorisation. Each worksheet in this dataset follows a consistent structure with a metadata header, sections (e.g., outputs, inputs from nature, inputs from technosphere, energy), and amount/unit/comment columns.
