Data supporting "Humans Modulate Walking Speed in Response to the Perceived Energy-Time Costs of Others"

This repository contains the processed experimental data and MATLAB analysis code supporting the manuscript Humans Modulate Walking Speed in Response to the Perceived Energy-Time Costs of Others. The dataset includes processed gait variables derived from wearable inertial measurement units (IMUs), participant information, empathy questionnaire responses, and MATLAB scripts used to reproduce the statistical analyses and figures presented in the manuscript. Participants completed a series of walking trials in which walking distance, box mass, and presentation condition were systematically varied during a cooperative object retrieval task. The repository contains the processed walking dataset (imuData.mat), participant information, questionnaire data, and analysis scripts required to reproduce the published results. The processed dataset contains all variables necessary to reproduce the analyses and figures presented in the manuscript.
