资源简介:
This dataset accompanies Palinkas and Engelhardt (2016). Soil cores were collected in the Dyke River Marsh, a tidal freshwater marsh located along the Potomac River Estuary. The goal of this study was to test hypotheses addressing the relationship of marsh surface elevation and channel influence to marsh accretion and evaluating marsh response to historic mining and environmental change. Soil cores were sliced at 1 and 2 cm increments and analyzed for bulk density, organic matter content, and lead-210 activities. Dominant species at the core sites included Typha angustofolia, Schoenoplectus fluviatus, Peltandra virginica, Nuphar lutea, and Impatiens capensis.
