Phenological observations of Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) at Kolari, NW Finland, 1994-2007 (Northern LTSER).

The phenological data originate from 14 research stands in Finland, Estonia and Russia. This dataset includes results of Kolari in Finnish Lapland. Rowan seedlings were planted to each research stand in autumn 1993. Seedlings originated from five different provenance and there were 6 seedlings from each provenance. Aim of the study was to improve methods of phenological studies and compare success of Rowan provenances in different climate conditions. Study was originally part of Finnish Meteorological Instititutes SILMU-project (Finnish National Climate Change Research Programme) and coordinated by University of Oulu, but was later transfered to Finnish Forest Research Institute (Metla).
