The dataset comprises a high-resolution RGB orthomosaic captured by an unoccupied aerial vehicle (UAV), containing only forest floor information from the Huss site in Hainich National Park, Germany.
The UAV RGB imagery was acquired using a DJI Phantom 4 Pro on April 2, 2020. A real-time kinematic (RTK) sensor, in combination with the SAPOS positioning service, was used to georeference the data. The RGB images were processed using a Structure-from-Motion (SfM) workflow implemented the software Agisoft Metashape (see processing report for more details).
The resulting SfM point cloud was terrain-normalized and filtered using rapidlasso LASTools. Only points with heights between -0.5 m and 5.0 m were rasterized with a pixel size of 5 cm to generate the ground orthomosaic.
