Figures and descriptions of the effects of lightning strikes on the crowns of canopy trees in the BCI 50-ha plot

This dataset includes figures and descriptions of lightning strike effects on crowns of canopy trees. Lightning strikes occurred from 21 September 2015 to 5 October 2019. Each panel of each figure has an extent of 60 x 60 m and is centered on an observed lightning strike (represented by a red dot). The first panel shows the most recent image before the strike, and the subsequent 11 panels are a post-strike time series. Inset numbers in each panel indicate the time post-strike in months. Red polygons indicate canopy disturbances relative to the previous panel. The PDF file included in this dataset contains all figures and descriptions.
