The Open Food Facts Product Database is a database containing information on food and beauty products, including ingredients, allergens, nutrition facts, and other label information. The database is maintained by a non-profit volunteer association, with over 25,000 contributors from 150 countries adding more than 1.7 million products using Android or iPhone apps or cameras to scan barcodes and upload product and label images. The data is public and can be freely used and reused by anyone. This dataset is a simplified version of the JSONL dump provided daily by the Open Food Facts organization, converted into the Parquet format for ease of use. During data processing, debug tags, hierarchy tags, and language interface tags were removed, while tags containing most of the information were retained, and the ingredients text for each language was kept as separate columns.
