Stone stele showing Emperor Xiaowen in a procession with his retinue. This relief was originally located at the entrance to the Central Binyang Cave, one of the largest rock-cut Buddhist caves commissioned by the Northern Wei royalty and located in Longmen near Luoyang, China. It belonged to a pair of the "royal procession" steles, and the other relief of the pair, the empress's procession, is at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Date: 522-23. Limestone with traces of pigment.
