The aim of this project was to determine Coronaviruses circulating in UK wildlife and to assess the risk of SARS-CoV-2 spill-over from humans into UK wildlife. Bioinformatic analysis of NGS data sets generated from stoats (Mustela erminea) rectal swab samples revealed the presence partial and nearly complete genome sequences of ferret Coronavirus classified as Minacovirus. These findings suggests that, extensive and continuous surveillance of coronaviruses in UK wildlife is required.
